Endometriosis and CancerEndometriosis is a condition that affects the female reproductive system, and it can be a debilitating and painful condition that can cause a woman to stop being productive during the times the symptoms manifest themselves. Endometriosis is also considered a benign condition and this means that the uterus has unusual cell growth in its muscles. It afflicts women in their 30s to 40s and usually among women who have never been pregnant. The symptoms of a benign growth in the uterus are painful menstruation, abnormal bleeding from the vagina, and inability to get pregnant, but not necessarily infertile. However, this condition does not cause cancer, regardless of what you may have heard. Endometriosis can be treated in several ways such as drugs to reduce hormone growth that causes the condition, hormone therapy, alternative natural remedies, nd surgery. You may have also heard of the term Endometrial hyperplasia. This means that your cells along the lining of your uterus is growing, but again, it is not cancer. It may develop into cancer, but it is not that common. The symptoms of this condition us heavy bleeding, and it generally afflicts women past the age of 40. If you have been diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia, and you fear the thought of it developing into cancer, there are measures you can take that will erase these fears such as having a hysterectomy which is a radical surgery that will remove all chances of getting pregnant, or you can try a more conservative approach of hormonal treatment to decrease the cell growth. However, it is important that you see your doctor regularly so he can check your progress. Cancer is a feared disease, but if you have endometriosis, you are not necessarily a candidate for cancer. There are other mitigating factors that could result in this condition developing into cancer of the uterus. If you have a history of cancer in your family, you should see a doctor as early as your teen years, at least once a year for a check up. You should give him your medical history, so that he can target specific possible problems. Endometriosis, although the real cause is still unknown, can be handled by treating the symptoms, and controlling the production of your estrogen. If you can prevent unusual cell growth, then the chances of these cells developing into cancerous cells will be greatly reduced. Taking care of your health and lifestyle will also help a great deal
because you avoid the bad food and bad habits. |
